Series Description

Architecture of Emptiness is a series of mixed media works created on canvases using layered collage techniques. Each piece is built with a carefully composed arrangement of fine art papers—textured, aged, torn, or industrial—assembled into geometric structures that evoke the quiet language of architecture.

Rooted in the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, the series embraces imperfection, transience, and raw materiality. The surfaces reveal the tension between order and erosion—grids and angles meet corrosion, rust-like tones, and the fragility of paper.

While the forms may appear structured or minimal, they carry an emotional weight: a sense of stillness, decay, and introspection. Each composition becomes a space of contemplation, an abstract “dwelling” where emptiness is not absence, but presence.

Each piece in the series can be collected individually, but they are also designed to be displayed together. Arranged as a diptych, triptych, or full wall installation, the works form larger, evolving compositions—offering a unique architectural rhythm and dialogue between forms.

This body of work invites the viewer to explore silence, time, and the beauty found in impermanence—through materials that are as delicate as they are architectural.

Materials used:

Canvas, Collage papers, Acrylics, Inks, Spray
