Sculpture on handmade Lecce stone, designed and created by the artist Andrea Serra. The sculpture "ARBOR VITAE" seems to be a work of art that tells the life path of each person, representing the experiences and choices that follow one another over time. The soft shapes and mosaic effect create an image of tiles that come together to form the grand design of life.
The processing of this work is entirely carried out by hand on this stone which is found only in very few areas of southern Italy, i.e. in the lower Salento in the province of Lecce. This particular stone of marine origin, rich in plant and animal fossils dating back to around twenty million years ago, makes it suitable for processing details. The fossils present are visible on the surfaces of the work and make it even more unique and fascinating.
The ARBOR VITAE sculpture, like every work by Andrea Serra, being hand-sculpted, is unique and signed in engraving by the artist.
