Original artwork description
Apples from the garden, brilliant intense red and yellow, with a silver plate and knife on top of a striped tablecloth. I loved dealing with the reflections in the silver plate, and with suggesting folds in the cloth with the curves of the blue and yellow stripes.
I painted this a few years ago, but it stayed in my studio; recently, I decided to rework it, adjusting the tones, the shadows, softening here and there - in fact, virtually re-painting it! I think it has more subtlety now.

Highest quality artists' oil paint on heavy cotton canvas.
