It deals with the fall and decline of humanity, with Lucifer as a symbolic presence. Human life is represented as a mere drop of water in a vast desert, destined to disappear quickly. The painting also reflects on the fragility of life.
The man is portrayed as mortal, while the woman embodies the Eternal Feminine — the cosmos, or Mother Nature. The apple of Adam and the Apple of Discord are also present as important symbols.
At the same time, I introduce a reference to Apple, and therefore to modernity and technology. Through this work, I wish to encourage a thoughtful and intelligent use of the life we have been given. Technology and AI are extraordinary tools, but they can also distance us from our humanity if we lose sight of what truly matters.
