Antoine is part of Mystiques serie. Antoine is a free representation of Saint Anthony of Padua. We find elements of the iconography of the saint such as the lily and the fish. The lily is a symbol of purity. The fish are the illustration of an episode in his life: Antoine came to preach in Rimini but the inhabitants refused to listen to his sermon. He then turns towards the sea and speaks to the fish. The fish begin to emerge from the water to listen to his words.
