In the works from the "Soul of Earth" series, the color of the red Sicilian earth predominates. In the alchemy that links earth to humanity and humanity to earth, an indissoluble bond is created with this element. If one spent a childhood in contact with its smell, its color, and its warmth, with the nature that has taken root in it—grasses, stones, thorns, leaves, flowers, insects, animals, but also the men who make it fertile and the women who sublimate its beauty and goodness... the soul cannot help but be imbued with earth.
In the work, there is a panic-stricken immersion in this living and vibrant element; everything fluctuates as if in a powerful energizing field.
Furthermore, a cocoa pigment was used to create it, accentuating the childhood suggestion with memories linked to the taste, smell, and color of chocolate and consequently to maternal warmth, laughter with friends, and all the affections that are the lifeblood of each of us.
