Ancestral Memory is a contemporary figurative work from the ROOTS series, inspired by Georgian and Caucasian cultural heritage and traditional dress.

Two frontal figures emerge from a restrained, almost monochromatic space. Their elongated silhouettes, traditional garments and graphic black details transform references to Caucasian clothing into a contemporary visual language.

Rather than documenting historical costume, the work explores ancestry, identity and cultural memory — the quiet connection between the present and what is inherited from previous generations.

The muted palette gives the painting a timeless atmosphere, while the woman's red lips create a subtle focal point within the composition.
