In this painting, I wanted to explore the contrast between interior warmth and the fading twilight of Paris outside. The Eiffel Tower serves as a distant focal point, not overly detailed but softly illuminated, symbolizing romance rather than architecture. The café interior is wrapped in deep tones, allowing the glow of lamps and reflections on tabletops to shape the emotional atmosphere. The figures are treated as silhouettes or half-lit forms, emphasizing mood over individual identity.
Technically, I alternated thick and thin brushwork to capture light sources and reflective surfaces. Layers of warm orange and gold create the flicker of candlelight, while the cool tones outside the window establish a dynamic warm–cool balance. Subtle splattered highlights suggest particles of light in the air, enhancing both depth and poetic ambience.
