While creating this painting, I wanted to capture one of Amsterdam’s most enchanting moments at dusk. As the lights along the canals begin to glow, the historic buildings emerge softly from the evening atmosphere, while vibrant flowers, quiet boats, and shimmering reflections combine to express the city’s warmth and vitality. Rather than focusing on architectural precision, I used bold, expressive brushwork to unite light, color, and emotion into a single visual experience. Through vivid warm–cool color contrasts, layered paint, and energetic textures, I hoped to portray not only the beauty of Amsterdam, but also its romance, elegance, and timeless spirit.
