Amsterdam Houses
This set of two artworks belongs to my “House” series, inspired by the timeless charm of Amsterdam canal houses. Painted in watercolor and ink, these sketches go beyond architectural details.

Series “Thuis” is more than a series of house images, it’s a collection of soul portraits, each telling a story. Every depicted home reflects the individuality of its inhabitant, revealing how personal space becomes an extension of the self.
Home is not defined by walls or a roof, but by the sanctuary we build within. It’s where we feel free to be ourselves, where every detail resonates with our essence.
These works remind us that true comfort begins with self-acceptance. Even when our physical surroundings shift, vanish, or remain distant, the inner home stays with us. Shaped by memories, rituals, beloved objects, scents, and sounds, it grounds us, allowing us to feel at home wherever we are in the world.
