Amberwood is a 24 x 18 in (61 x 45.7 cm) abstract work created with acrylic on 140lb (300g) watercolor paper. It is part of a series of paper paintings that celebrate the passing of winter to spring. The painting is composed of several thin layers of acrylic paint applied intuitively.
The dominant color is a mint green, interspersed with burnt tones creating a balance between the organic and the abstract. The warm and cold tones blend and echo each other, creating a feeling of fluidity and movement. The last layers are simpler, but no less important. They are soft and complete the painting, giving it a final touch.
