This painting is a larger, more expansive development of an original study. During a recent fortnight painting holiday in Northumberland, I went for a dawn cycle ride to Alnmouth - arriving at 8 o’clock. The morning light was golden, accentuating the rich earth tones of the countryside. This is a view of the harvested hills in the direction of the town of Lesbury.
