I painted this piece in the early morning to try and capture the colours of the Thames and landscape before the colours are saturated by full light. Albert bridge is such an iconic structure, it is hard to approach painting it but by using the diffused light I hope I have created a landscape that has the bridge in it rather than a painting 'of the bridge'.
I have used a linen canvas and Michael Harding oil paints to ensure the colours do not change over time. It is framed in a white-washed 'hover mounted' frame which gives the a modern edge and reflects the paler colours.
