When I painted this piece, I wanted to capture a quiet, tender moment between mother and child. The sunlight filtering through the trees creates a dreamy interplay of light and shadow. I imagined them enjoying a spring picnic, exchanging gentle words and glances — an intimate slice of everyday life.
I employed impressionistic brushwork, using short, dynamic strokes to convey the play of light and the movement of the grass. Saturated colors bring out the warmth of sunlight, while softer lines and hues shape the figures, evoking closeness and emotion. The background remains suggestive and blurred to draw focus to the emotional core in the foreground.
