I painted this piece after walking through the Yaesu side of Tokyo Station on a bright afternoon. The street felt alive — people moving between offices, buses passing, light reflecting off tall glass buildings.

What stayed with me was the contrast between strong sunlight and the deep shadows cutting across the road. The buildings formed a vertical corridor where light and shade kept shifting as I walked. Even in the middle of the business district, there was a quiet rhythm — movement, pause, movement again.

In this work, I focused less on architectural detail and more on the feeling of space and contrast. The vertical structure of the buildings organizes the composition, while the figures in the foreground provide scale and human presence. A restrained palette of cool blues, balanced with subtle warm tones, reinforces the clarity of afternoon light.

Painted on acid-free 100% cotton watercolor paper using professional artist pigments.
Signed on the front, back, certificate of authenticity attached.
