There is a moment after sunset when the sky no longer burns, yet the warmth has not completely disappeared. I wanted to capture that suspended state — the quiet intensity that remains when light shifts but emotion lingers.

In “Afterlight”, a deep purple sky stretches across layered blue fields, interrupted by a vivid red horizon line. I worked with horizontal movement and gradual pigment transitions to create a sense of distance and openness within a compact 30 × 30 cm square format. The contrast between indigo calm and crimson energy gives this abstract landscape both depth and subtle tension.

Although small in scale, the composition holds an expansive feeling — a contemporary oil painting that speaks through color relationships, texture and space. Its scale invites closeness, while the horizon suggests something far beyond the edges of the canvas.

• Oil on canvas
• The sides are painted as a continuation of the image, allowing it to be displayed without a frame
• Layered brushwork with visible texture and tonal transitions
• Finished with protective satin varnish
• Signed on the front and reverse
• Certificate of Authenticity included
• Ready to hang
• Carefully packaged for safe international shipping
