Last autumn I had a trip to one of my favorite cities in Japan - Kyoto.
On my first day I wanted to see the most beloved places there and of course Gion Shirakawa was among them.
Lights were already on in the streets, not many people around and it felt like I was somewhere far deep in the centuries, long time ago, watching how with every light in the windows Gion district was awakening.
