Original artwork description
This original, one-of-a-kind mixed media painting depicts the African Wild Dog (also known as the Painted Wolf).
To recreate the dog’s mottled fur, I've used a blend of acrylic paint and textile collage, layering linen canvas fragments and impasto paint. The background features vertical, atmospheric strokes in cool teals and sage greens, creating a striking contrast against the warm, earthy tones of the subject.
To create depth I've added a grassy textured tree bark in the foreground.
It is painted on MDF panel, and is framed in a deep profile, black wooden frame, ready to hang.
