Mykola Kozlovsky is a Ukrainian contemporary artist who works in non-figurative painting.
Shipped in a cardboard package.
Collage technique:
Colored paper is pasted on cardboard.
Dimensions: 26x34 centimeters. 10.2 x 13.3 in.
Without frame
I make colored paper myself, I just paint ordinary paper with acrylic or gouache in the colors and shades I like, then cut out random shapes and combine them into a colored medium. So I make a selection. The base is pressed cardboard, or corrugated cardboard not less than 5 millimeters (and preferably thicker) because after the glue dries, thin cardboard bends into an arc.
The work of art is made of corrugated cardboard and colored paper. Part of the "Abstract Compositions" series.
These experiments with color, form and environment began after studying Johannes Itten's book "Color Theory". While reading, I had to do exercises with color, especially to understand the theory of contrasts and harmony. After that, I started making compositions from random shapes and colors and did it unconsciously, unlike the previous conscious exercises from the book.
The only requirement I gave myself was a harmonious environment that is associated with harmony in nature, which is the complete opposite of illustration.
