An egret, a white heron - first of all, like all herons, - is a symbol of curiosity. In addition, it symbolises vigilance and calm.
The heron personifies tact and delicacy, as it takes off without muddying the water.
In Egypt, this Solar Bird is a symbol of the morning (rising) Sun and is revered as the creator of light. Therefore, it is believed that the heron is a symbol of rebirth, the renewal of life.

A note: The background of the painting is deep violetish-brown, not black as it looks in some photos. You can see it better in the last photo (view of the side) - compare it to the black fridge door that the canvas is leaning against.
