In this painting, I sought to capture the tranquility and romance of a lakeside terrace at twilight. The distant mountains and water are bathed in the day’s final glow, while blooming flowers and warm lights create a sense of comfort and belonging. I wanted viewers to feel immersed in the scene and experience the harmony between nature and human-made spaces in this fleeting moment of light.
I employed loose, expressive brushwork to blend architecture, flowers, and landscape into a unified rhythm of color. Contrasts between warm and cool tones enhance depth and atmosphere, while bright highlights and varied paint thickness evoke the glow of sunset. The result combines the luminous qualities of Impressionism with the emotional energy of contemporary expressionism.
