Artwork description
Inspired by the Japanese concept of "Ma" (the beauty of empty space), this work explores the existential relationship between the individual and the infinite. By placing a solitary figure against a minimalist horizon where the sea and sky dissolve into one, I seek to visualize the internal state of solitude—not as loneliness, but as a profound convergence with nature.
I chose black and white photography as my medium to strip away the distractions of reality, allowing the geometric lines of the structure and the subtle gradients of the mist to speak a more universal, rational language. My intent is for the viewer to feel a sense of meditative stillness, prompting a reflection on our own scale within the vastness of the universe. It is a study of presence and absence, a quiet moment of clarity in a chaotic world.
