This original painting, Slice of Light, is from the series Maybe I’ve Always Been Here, exploring memory, non-linear time, belonging, and the connection between the human and the unseen.
A woman stands beside an orange tree, both earthly and divine, holding a single fruit that glows like a small sun in her hands. Above her, the moon takes the shape of an orange segment, echoing the cycles of light and shadow. At her feet, a hare rests close to the earth, symbolising her connection with nature.
The orange becomes a small source of light held within the figure’s hands, while the moon mirrors its shape above her. Together, these elements create a visual dialogue between the earthly and the celestial, nature and the human figure.
The artwork is painted on canvas and comes stretched on a wooden stretcher frame, ready to hang, but unframed. A frame can be added according to the buyer’s preference if desired.
