- A Range of Smiles
Original artwork description
More than merely friendly a smile can be loving, fake or fierce, it can be subservient, it can be dominant. This painting started as a series of transparent washes on paper, but very quickly the need for the red lip colour and white teeth to be opaque became obvious. The vertical striations were unintentional but felt appropriate as a smile lights a face from chin to crown, as well as side to side.
Materials used:
dry pigment on modelling paste, and varnish
Details:
- Mixed-media painting on Canvas
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 40 x 50 x 2cm (unframed)
- Ready to hang
- Signed on the front
- Style: Abstract
- Subject: Abstract and non-figurative
