This striking work depicts a young woman, dressed in a blue dress, her gaze seemingly drawn elsewhere to a point beyond our view. Who is she waiting for, and why? There is a sense of calm and of mystery. The background is subtle, angular, a play of shadow, of pink and pastel. The work is textured with card and a blend of thicker brush strokes. The canvas is 0.4 inches deep, and can therefore hang without the need for framing if wished.
