A place in the sun (2026) Original Oil Painting by Irina Sazonova

120 x 130 x 3.5cm (unframed) / 120 x 130cm (actual image size)

£2,343.41

This painting is about the ancient and eternal search for one's place in the sun.

Since the dawn of time, everyone on Earth has fought for the right to exist, to live, to occupy their own space, to speak their own voice.

For me, the tigers in this work are a symbol of strength, instinct, tension, and that primordial truth in which a place in the sun is rarely given away.
In my painting, two tigers seem to meet at a point of extreme tension. This isn't just a clash of personalities, but an image of the very nature of the world, where one often has to fight for place, strength, the right to exist, and the right to move forward. There's instinct, power, the heat of a scorching planet, and a sense that Earth is still a place where everyone struggles to find their place under this enormous sun.

What do you think: is the struggle for a place in the sun a law of nature or a scenario that humanity can change?
