Paris, somewhere between the lights of the Eiffel Tower and the quiet waters of the Seine.

I captured this scene in 2018 during a long hitchhiking journey from Lviv, Ukraine, to Lisbon, Portugal. Paris was one of the unexpected stops along the way. After the noise and movement of the journey, this quiet night by the Seine felt almost unreal.

The illuminated Eiffel Tower rises above the dark river, while the reflections, old bridge and deep shadows create a timeless, cinematic atmosphere.

I chose to present the photograph in black and white to emphasize the mood, light and architecture — making the image feel less like a travel photograph and more like a still from a film.

A personal memory of a long journey through Europe, captured on a quiet night in Paris.
