A Morning Skift A Downy and A Hairy is an abstract painting recording the events of a cold mountain morning in February 2020. An overnight thin layer of snow covered everything. He followed his usual morning routine of filling his bird feeders and fixed his breakfast. As he ate breakfast, two woodpeckers were joining him in theirs; one was a Downy Woodpecker the other was a Hairy Woodpecker. Just the night before, he and a friend were discussing the subtle differences in Downys and Hairys.
