'A man weary of metaphors’ depicts someone stranded in thought whilst the universe undermines his efforts. As the high tide approaches, he spreads his arms; a plea, an entreaty, to some god perhaps.
Overhead a waxing gibbous moon watches. Seemingly disinterested in the man and the trouble it has stirred.
