This was another piece inspired largely by Matisse, but in a palette atypical for me. I’d been musing about how my Darling Dad- almost up until his passing a year ago- still sent Letters, handwritten, posted, and mailed. I find this practice to be very rare these days, but very dear. This canvas is painted around the edges so it can be hung, unframed.
