This painting began after a sudden shower during a park walk, when the ground turned to glass and an abandoned umbrella became the heart of the composition. I thought about how just recently I'd dreamed of having a transparent umbrella like this. It's so nice to walk under one and see everything around you. And now I had one just like it, only with a burgundy handle. What a coincidence!
