Original artwork description
I remember seeing a famous front cover of a Time Magazine. It was showing a photo of Saddam Hussein after he had just been captured by the US Military with the headline "We Got Him".
Since that day the bombings and sanctions continued with an estimated 500,000 children dying. I wanted to show the children of Iraq as the real victims of the war so I painted an Iraqi boy and kept the headline "We Got Him!"
My portrait style is hyperrealism and I never deviate from my principle that true artwork must be a straight line from your heart to the canvas.
