From the series "Elementa."
In addition to the classical elements earth, water, fire, air and gas (space), in many ancient eastern concepts of self there are an additional two: consciousness (or thought itself) and the element of spirit.
Further to this, since ancient times, philosophers have suggested that love is an elemental force of nature, like gravity or electromagnetism. The power that drives the stars, they say, is the same force that compels the human heart. Working with these concepts, I aim to find a truth beyond reality in my painting.
"A Case of You" is, of course, a song by Joni Mitchell, from her 1971 iconic album Blue.
Painting is strung, ready to hang.
