839 - CHICKEN FILLETS
The Solitude of Canned Animals is a series of small paintings made with acrylics, pastels, and chalk on canvas, presented in vintage gilded frames, like those used for old family photographs.
The idea originated from observing the images printed on food packaging: cows, tuna, anchovies, sardines. Simple figures, almost toy-like, inhabiting brightly colored, perfectly sealed containers.
Inside these small spaces, the animals seem suspended: carefully preserved, made incorruptible, yet separated from the world.
From inside their cans, they continue to look at us in silence.
Perhaps this is why they end up resembling us.
