SACRO CUORE is part of “Le Moschine”, a series of acrylic paintings in the style of old American cartoons of the 1920s and 1930s.
The depiction of the flaming pierced heart is widespread, both in sacred and profane art. It is one of the main subjects of traditional tattoo art, and obviously of cartoon art.
This little heart in particular pierces itself, perhaps that its greatest pain is itself? Does he love himself to death? Is he mad? I leave the
interpretation to you.
The work is sold ready to put on the wall, provided with a vintage frame in hand-gilded resin.
