Original artwork description
She looks up at a world of floating hands and sleeves suspended on pink threads — limbs without bodies, gestures without intention, presences without faces. Her own arms are articulated, screwed together like those of a puppet who woke up one morning with this simple and vertiginous question: who are you?
She doesn't seem frightened. Rather curious. Perhaps resigned. She contemplates all of this - the hands drifting above her, the threads that run through her - with the blue eyes of someone who understood long ago that we don't entirely choose what we are.
The white bow tie is impeccable. One maintains one's dignity, even when one is a puppet.
