He holds the little house as if it were the most precious thing in the world - carefully, almost tenderly, his long fingers wrapped around its red tower. Around him, butterflies drift through a dense garden of flowers and foliage, some landing on the house, others rising into the air. He watches them with quiet concentration.
I painted him as someone who understands that the most important things are often the smallest. He has built this house not for himself, but for creatures far more delicate than he is - and that, I think, says everything about him.
