I am AVEN — Natalia Langenberg, a Russian-born artist living and working in the Netherlands. Through oil painting, I give ideas visible form in a language of philosophical realism and symbolism.

My series “Fragile Reality” speaks of transformation, of reconsidering what happens to us, of letting go and forgiveness. What we believe to be stable and lasting can prove unexpectedly fragile and shatter into pieces. Everything is impermanent, and reality does not always resemble the picture we hold in our minds.

Within this series, “The Illusion of Fragility” and “The Illusion of Reality” express two connected ideas: what appears fragile may hold the strength to endure, while what feels certain may rest on an illusion. My paintings give form to the moment when familiar certainties fall apart and we begin to see differently.

Figures, birds, hearts and threads carry these ideas through quiet, symbolic scenes. Each painting leaves room for a personal response — a memory, a feeling, a meaning that belongs to the viewer.

In a world filled with noise and sameness, AVEN creates a quiet, personal space — an image in which you can pause, feel and find your own meaning.

For 25 years, I worked as a master jeweller. My sensitivity to detail, light and the expressive power of small things continues in my paintings. My works are held in private collections across Europe, the Americas, Australia and beyond.

I am gradually bringing this collection together under AVEN, introducing new paintings from my “Fragile Reality” series.
