About Sanja Jancic

  • Biography
My name is Sanja Jančić, a Serbian artist, and I am a dedicated painter, cellist, composer, writer, and director. I was born in Belgrade and completed both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. I continued my education in London, and I have also lived and created in Spain. I now live and work in Belgrade. As a cellist, I have performed internationally throughout Europe and around the world. I have composed music for dozens of films that have achieved significant success at international festivals. My poetry has been published in esteemed professional journals in both Serbia and Russia. I created my first paintings back in 1985, and many of them found their homes in Moscow, where I was studying at the time. Five years ago, I returned intensely to my great love — painting — and since then I have sold more than 500 artworks across the world. My artworks have been presented internationally and are part of collections on major global art platforms such as Saatchi Art, Artfinder, Artmajeur and Artquide. The themes that inspire me include seascapes, underwater human figures, portraits, and Mediterranean architecture. Abstract art is also one of my great passions, and I enjoy exploring different shapes and colors. Although acrylic is my preferred medium, I often use mixed techniques to achieve rich, layered expression. I have created a large number of paintings that now adorn homes around the world, as well as an extensive body of musical compositions.
