I enjoy blurring the lines between classical painting and illustration. Before I paint i abstract my image as much as I can during the drawing stage then try to bring the painting back to reality with paint. Sometimes it remains too ‘cartoonish’ and sometimes it’s too ‘real’. I find the perfect painting lies when it straddles both the real and illustrative genres.
