    I am very fortunate to be able to spend time on the fabulous Isle of Wight at Freshwater Bay, my favourite spot in the unspoilt West Wight. The golden sunsets over the bay this year seem to have been particularly spectacular.

    Autumn Mood

    Autumn Mood

    I have been getting into an Autumn mood this past week in readiness for my up coming solo exhibition at the Dart Centre in Hedge End, Eastleigh, Hampshire which runs from 2nd October through to 26th October. The exhibition is titled 'Breath of Autumn' and will feature around 30 of my Autumn inspired paintings.

    I find inspiration for my paintings right across the vast variance in scale in the natural world from the structure of plant cells up to galaxies and nebulae.

    Micheldever Morning Series of Paintings

    I have been working recently on a series of paintings inspired by the fabulous Micheldever Beech Woods near Winchester in Hampshire during the springtime. Here each year users are reliably treated to the display of a carpet of bluebells with a flush of fresh, bright green new beech leaves. The theme was the subject of a recent workshop that I ran as part of Hampshire Open Studios. I am very pleased that two small paintings form the series have already sold.

    Also pleased to have sold my large 1m x1m paining 'Hillier Gardens IV' this week ..this time to a buyer in Hampshire, England. Seems that it is the large paintings that are selling at the moment .

    Hampshire Open Studios

    Hampshire Open Studios

    Set up this week for Hampshire Open Studios at the D'Art Centre in Hedge End. My studio is in my loft at home so not suitable for visitors unfortunately. I have 50 original paintings on sale as well as a range of prints. Open form 10.00 am to 5.00 pm every day up to and including the Bank holiday Monday 28th Aug. Would be great to meet you!

    Hampshire Open Studios . The D'Art Centre

    I have started to drop off paintings for the start of Hampshire Open Studios exhibition at the D'Art Centre in Hedge End which opens with a private view on Friday 18th Aug. This 1.5m x1.2 m large painting is one that will be hung in the Foyer space next week.

    En Plein Air in Hamble

    En Plein Air in Hamble

    During a break in the weather I enjoyed getting out there to paint 'En Plein Air' on the banks of the River Hamble. The River Hamble Sailing club juniors had moored up and gone for lunch leaving their dinghies with brightly coloured sails which made for a great composition!
