    I have had a recent very welcome break to the Algarve which has given me inspiration for a new series of paintings. In these I will we striving to depict some of the quality of light and shade expressed in the garden paintings of the absolutely awesomely talented Joaquin Sorolla. Somehow he always has the edge!

    I am pleased to have dispatched my painting 'Shepherd's Delight' off to a buyer in Philadelphia...but the cost of postage has shot up....seemingly doubled! I have had to adjust the postage costs charged but fear that this will just kill any future sales to the USA sadly.

    Lanzarote Sunset is one of the paintings that I will be exhibiting in the 'Back to the Drawing board' group exhibition at the Dart Centre at Hedge End, Southampton from 8th Jan until 9th Feb 2024. The sun is a universal symbol of renewal and new beginnings.

    I bought a batch of 20cm x 20cm canvases and I am enjoying creating some compact but still characteristic landscape paintings in pairs to offer at a modest price....They look to be very similar... except. Spot the difference..... Like they captured a moment in time. Poetic or what?

    Commissions

    Commissions

    I have been busy with some commissions these last few weeks. I was pleased to have a commission to depict the shoreline at Hill Head in Hampshire. This view has changed significantly since the last time that I painted this scene with the demolition of the Fawley power station chimney in 2021. This was an aid to landscape painters as well as sailors!
