    I do not submit entries for many open exhibitions ... mostly a fairly expensive endeavour and a lot of effort for not much benefit of late. However there was something that appealed about the Salisbury museum call out. So I have submitted my paintings 'Walk to Hengistbury Head' and' View to Woolborough Hill ' I have always liked these paintings which are a couple of years old now. I do not like all of my paintings and mostly I tinker with them rather than painting over them ( each one is like a child to me it seems!). Having said that 'Art' is in the mind of the beholder and sometimes the most unlikely paintings find a new home!

    My latest painting depicts the expansive beach sunset at Ryde on the Isle of Wight at low tide. It features the world's oldest seaside pleasure pier, stretching out for nearly half a mile.

    I sometimes invert the colours in an image and post these on my Fine Art America/Pixels web pages. They can make unexpected striking images. Apparently I have had over 60,000 views on my Fine Art America web page ... which makes available to purchase a range of prints, greetings cards and all manner of merchandise , phone covers, shower curtains, drinking mugs, cushions etc ..you name it! Very occasionally they send me a modest payment so someone somewhere must buy some stuff.. but I cannot find any way to know what!

    Mottistone Gardens

    I have enjoyed creating my latest painting this week which is inspired by a recent visit to the spectacularly colourful flower borders at Mottistone Manor at Mottistone on the Isle of Wight. The 90cm x 90 cm size is a particularly good format to work with in the studio.

    Rhododendron Walk

    My latest painting depicts the fabulous Rhododendron Walk which links the Swiss Cottage to the beach at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. It is late in the season for Rhododendrons now but this has the benefit of a having a carpet of fallen blossom on the ground which makes for an interesting painting.

    OCEAN DRIVE

    OCEAN DRIVE

    I have my large painting 'Ocean Drive' offered with a 10% reduction currently ( 40" x 30" - 102cm x 76cm) painting. This is one pf my 'powerful places ' series of paintings. This painting draws on my memories of Ocean Drive, South Beach Miami, Florida. There are some fantastic art deco buildings here and some classic retro hotels and diners.

    Lanzarote Sunset

    I have my large and bold painting 'Lanzarote Sunset ' offered with a 10% reduction in my current sale. This is inspired by the dramatic sunsets on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. It is my homage to the Lanzarote based artist Cesar Manrique. This painting is highly textured with pastes mixed with sand and applied gold leaf with gold, copper and bronze reflective paints. Brightens up any room and changes under varying lighting conditions.
