    Lanzarote Sunset

    I have my large and bold painting 'Lanzarote Sunset ' offered with a 10% reduction in my current sale. This is inspired by the dramatic sunsets on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. It is my homage to the Lanzarote based artist Cesar Manrique. This painting is highly textured with pastes mixed with sand and applied gold leaf with gold, copper and bronze reflective paints. Brightens up any room and changes under varying lighting conditions.

    SONGKRAN

    I have my Dipytch 'Songkran' offered with a 10% reduction currently. This is a bit different to my normal style but I really enjoyed creating this with peblo pouring resin paints and I think it captures the energy of the Thai Sonkran water festival which I took part in a in April 2019. The whole village came out to chuck water and coloured flours at each other ... great fun!

    Today I received this really great early feedback on my painting currently showcased in the reception of the Southampton Branch of Foot Anstey Law. "We have already had tons of great feedback about the painting, the texture, the detail, the colours…. People love it! " I have had a couple of Hampshire galleries tell me that red paintings never sell and that they will not exhibit them... Oh well...I will have to paint some more!

    Reviews do not get any better than this one from Harry! 'Magnificent all around. I had purchased one of Paul's pieces back in 2017 and it added such a special perspective to my then NYC apartment. Now I have moved to a larger space in the same building and ordered two more and wow! He is an exceptional artist with great business integrity. Everyone who walks through my door goes straight to my Paul Best collection. His work is amazing. If I could I would flood my walls with his works of art'. Thank you Harry.

    Showcase at Foot Anstey Law Southampton

    I was very pleased to be approached by the Southampton Branch of the Law firm 'Foot Anstey' to showcase one of my paintings in their Reception area for the next 12 months. The staff voted for their favourite of three of my large paintings and they chose 'Lymington Harbour Sunset ' which depicts my impression of the view of the harbour from the Lymington to Yarmouth Isle of Wight ferry during a particularly spectacular red sunset.

    I also included my small 20 cm x 20 cm painting 'Lemon Tree I' as a surprise bonus painting this past week. Small paintings can be just the thing for the right space. I used a texture paste to accentuate the lemons in this series of paintings. I also used a lemon essence on the rear of the paintings just as an experiment... but the smell faded very quickly!

    I am very pleased to have dispatched my large oil painting' Hampshire Summer Fields V' off to New York this past week. It had a false start with Parcel Force ... ( they do not cope well with any parcel over 75cm x 75 cm ) but then sent with Transglobal with DHL and I was very impressed that it arrived the next day!

    Hampshire Rose Garden

    I have really enjoyed creating another painting in my series of Hampshire Rose Garden paintings as a demonstration painting at a recent workshop at the Hamble Art Group. This is now available to purchase through Artfinder. Will hopefully not be long now until spring is springing and we will have roses to enjoy once more.
