About Lorraine Brown

  • Biography
I live in the historic heart of Cambridge, UK, where I am lucky to be surrounded by ancient colleges, beautiful trees, parks and the River Cam.  In this environment I am never short of inspiration whether it be my love for the natural world or my fascination for history and the many fields of research that take place in this vibrant city.  In the studio I explore these themes using collage, monoprinting and painting, often a combination of all three.  Whilst I am working I find I become totally absorbed by the processes and my passion for colour, texture and pattern.  For me the process is just as important as the outcome, it both challenges my brain and keeps me sane!
