About Irene Gronwall

Creating art makes me feel alive and good. I have done it for a long time now and I can not live without doing it. 
  I am an abstract painter and I paint layers upon layers. I am interested in what lays underneath each layer; in life, in nature, in people, in actions – in things I see in everyday life. That´s my inspiration.  Often use a few colours so that the eyes can rest on the forms. But I also surprise myself every now and then and paint all the colours that I love.  

One of my favourite artists is Kline. I love his boldness, his trust in the brushstroke and that it is enough. Less is more, that is what I learn from him! And to be brave!

I love meeting my collectors, love talking to the people who see my work. Listening to what a painting means to them, what they see in it and answering questions they might have about my work. When collectors like my art and buy it, I feel really good because I contribute to more joy.
