Biography
As a self-taught artist working primarily in oils and acrylics, my art has always been a personal journal - an exploration of identity, emotion, and the quiet thoughts we often keep hidden. My earlier works on raw canvas, stitched with hand-dyed red thread, reflect foundational moments in my journey, where flora and fauna became symbols of memory, vulnerability, and strength.
Over time, my work has evolved to embrace more surreal and symbolic forms, culminating in my ongoing Woman in the Bath series. These paintings explore the fluid nature of persona, using the bathroom - a private, often overlooked space - as a backdrop for introspection and emotional honesty. Delicate flowers, veiled in translucent liquid, symbolise the layers we wear in public and the quiet relief of shedding them in solitude.
Whether capturing the symbolic life of a bird or the melting mask of identity, I hope my work offers moments of reflection and comfort. It’s a reminder that we all carry contradictions, and within those complexities lies something deeply human - and worth celebrating.
