About Elena Damiani
Biography
My artistic practice is rooted in observation, intuition, and the emotional impact of contemporary life. Influenced both by my immediate surroundings and the constant flow of the digital world, my paintings emerge through an organic and instinctive process.
I began painting in 2016 at the studio of Uruguayan artist Ignacio Iturria, initiating a personal exploration that continues to evolve over time.
My work investigates the relationship between perception, memory, and abstraction. Through geometric structures, layered forms, and carefully balanced compositions, I seek to reinterpret fragments of reality into visual experiences that invite stillness and contemplation.
Color plays a central role in my process, guiding the emotional rhythm of each piece. Rather than representing specific places or moments, my paintings aim to evoke atmospheres and sensations that exist between the urban, the architectural, and the intuitive.
I have participated in several group exhibitions, including Aguada Park (2025), Disbelief on Pause at Black Gallery in Pueblo Garzón (2024), Dispararte at El Galpón Obligado in Montevideo (2023), and El Anexo in Carrasco, Montevideo (2020).
