People & body language are always a fascinating subject to me.
I have accumulated a vast amount of my own photos of people which I view & review to get inspired to then collage , and get compositions such as this one.
Acrylic on handmade Thai mulberry paper (kada sa), deckled edge, 21.25 x 31.5 in., 54x 79 cm.
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It’s a thick parchment paper, strong yet pliable. It is made to this size to get the unique, uneven deckled edges which adds to the overall textural effect. The close up pictures are to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Please note the natural uneven edges and texture, thickness of the paper. The close up pictures are to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress, and me with the painting for perspective.

About framing this painting.
When considering framing bear in mind to not cover up the deckled edges. This is one of the specialties of the painting, one of its charms. It is best displayed framed with a cut mat board around the painting so as not to cover the edges, thereby putting some space between the art and the glass and bringing depth to the framed art. It can also be framed simply with backing board and pressed with glass over the front without causing damage.
