Original artwork description:

I never get tired of painting roses — their shape, color, and soft transitions always feel like a little miracle to capture in oil.

This piece was painted using a traditional Old Master technique. I started with a grisaille underpainting — a careful study in light and shadow — and then built the color slowly through thin layers of glaze. This gives the petals that glowing, almost touchable depth that I love so much.

It’s painted on a solid wood panel with high-quality oil paints. Each petal was shaped patiently, layer by layer, until it felt alive — like you could almost touch it or smell it.

Size: 11x14 inches, unframed.
