Margarita Ivanova is an artist who works with various mediums based on the principle of palimpsest – multiple layers of paintings or graphics. These are completely proprietary techniques. Painting - where only oil is used in combination with various mediums, the number of very thin layers reaches 50-60. Or Graphics that use thin layers of acrylic with watercolor pencils. All the works are painted on premium quality linen canvas and covered with high-quality varnish. The theoretical foundation of her artistic practice is metamodernism and new sincerity, and she defines the main method by the term "oscillation". In her works, Margarita explores fluctuations between internal and external, personal and collective, between the community system and the subject system, as well as ways of interpenetration and fragmentation of images.
Margarita's works are in private collections all over the world. Margarita is a regular participant in prestigious art fairs and exhibitions, as well as a multiple winner and finalist of international art awards. Her works are increasing in value year after year.

"I draw on the experience of Michel Foucault, on his analysis of the relationship between painting as an object and painting as an illusory volume, updated by the Impressionists. I don't paint portraits in the usual sense, but I create a reason to doubt the usual interpretation. I discard traditional aesthetic gradations, creating a painting-an object with which the viewer independently makes eye contact."
